The Balinese Day of Silence        Nyepi is the Hindu New Year celebration in Bali, Indonesia, and one of the most unique and sacred observances in the world. Unlike typical New Year celebrations filled with festivities, Nyepi is a "Day of Silence" marked by meditation, self-reflection, and strict prohibitions. It follows the Balinese Saka calendar and usually falls in March. This special day is dedicated to spiritual cleansing, allowing people to seek inner peace and harmony with nature.      During Nyepi, Balinese Hindus follow four strict prohibitions known as Catur Brata Penyepian: 1. Amati Geni (No Fire or Light) – This includes refraining from using electricity, fire, or even cooking, symbolizing self-control and purification. 2. Amati Lelungan (No Travel) – People stay at home, and the streets are completely empty, creating a peaceful atmosphere across the island. 3. Amati Lelanguan (No Entertainment or Pleasure) – Activities such as watching TV...

Supernova: The Death and Rebirth of A Star        Supernova, simply put, is the collapse of a massive star that happens in an explosion when the core of a star is no longer able to sustain itself through nuclear reaction and it collapses under the massive weight of its own body. The term “Supernova" came from the latin word of “nova" meaning ‘new’ with an added prefix “super-”. Supernovas usually last for a few months and happen every 50 years in a galaxy as big as the milky way. Supernovas are also split into mostly two categories: Type I and Type II. Type I supernovae happen when A star accumulates matter from a nearby neighbor until a runaway nuclear reaction ignites. Meanwhile Type II supernovae happen when a star runs out of nuclear fuel and collapses under its own gravity.      Stars are gassy giants in the universe that emit energy. This energy comes in the form of light and heat. Stars create these energies by nuclear reactions that happen in t...

Captain blekie had come into possession of a weathered old map, its edges tattered and ink faded, but the promise of riches it held ignited a fire in his eyes. The map pointed to an island far off the usual trade routes, a place few dared to venture, known as the Isle of Shadows. The journey to the Isle of Shadows was fraught with peril. The seas grew increasingly treacherous as they neared their destination, with towering waves and howling winds that threatened to tear The Tempest apart. Yet Captain blekie was undeterred, his grip on the wheel as firm as his resolve. His crew, though seasoned, could not help but exchange nervous glances as the sky darkened, and the...
